The Player Date Europe is a 7-ply African Mahogany/Luan Mahogany/Maple kit with a full contact bearing edge. It is the result of long-term discussions and interchange of ideas about realizing an exclusive kit C&C kit for the European market. The shell construction using three different woods, the soft, musical Luan of the Player Date, the bright, resonant Maple of the Player Date II and adding also African Mahogany for giving some extra richness and warmth. This hybrid shell, combining the best of both worlds of the previous Player Date lines, sounds absolutely stunning. The Natural finish reveals the wonderful grain of the African Mahogany wood while the Ginger Glass Glitter brings back the excitement of a classy vintage wrap from the gold old days of American drums. Both finish options on this extraordinary exclusive shell are only available at C&C Drums Europe. In combination with Single Flanged hoops, Vintage „Fold Out“ spurs, our unique Full Contact bearing edge and our in-house made Player Date double-ended hardware, this kit is not only a perfect addition to its American originals, it has become an outstanding instrument itself.
All our drums start from wood — the essential origin for anything in respect of tone. Not round, perfectly formed pre-fabricated shells, but flat sheets of the most beautiful, perfect wood one can acquire. The Player Date Europe has our very own African Mahogany/Luan Mahogany/Maple shell (7-ply), a shell you can’t get anywhere else from here since it’s an European exclusive. If you want to know more about how our drums are made, we’d love to invite you to take a look at the link of our Gladstone Shells page.
We’re very pleased that we’re — after having started producing our own shells — now also able to provide the Player Date with an inhouse lug design. Being inspired by many of the classics, it reveals the bridge building between a bit of a modern Kansas City architecture with aspects of many of our favorites lugs on drums from the past. Our double ended „Art Deco“ lug is featured on all Player Dates regularly and works greatly in combination with Vintage „Fold Out“ spurs, the Butterfly Bassdrum claws and the Classic Deluxe strainer for snare.
Every Player Date comes with beautiful inlayed Wood Hoops, so of course our Player Date Europe does. The Ginger Glass Glitter comes with greatly matching inlayed Black Stain Hoops, the African Mahogany provides with lovely Maple Hoops which which surround the natural inlay. Like on both original US lines, no detail has been overlooked on these drums and we have made sure these lovely hoops round off the look for every Player Date Europe kit perfectly.
Besides the standard configurations for the Player Date Europe, we of course offer additional tom sizes in order to enlarge and fulfill your desired set-up perfectly. Maybe a second floor tom for having more bottom and volume in your kit? Or maybe another rack tom for proving with a great tone in between? This is all no problem, if anything. We’d like to get you your personal Player Date Europe configuration as perfect as can be!
Wood Hoops are always a class of their own. To make your kit an even more eye-catcher, adding some of these marvelous hoops on toms and/or snare drum is the perfect option. Like anything else, our unique wood hoops are all certainly being handmade and represent a beautiful extension of the drum kit. When enlarging your Player Date with some of these hoops, it is by then not only an instrument anymore, but can be considered as a drum piece of art at the latest.
You’d like to get a Tom or Cymbal Mount to have your set look a bit more like the Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa style? No problem, we’d be happy installing you such an add-on in order to make your C&C setup even more compact and unique. Just let us know about your desired mount when ordering via mail or choose for your preferred option in the shop – we’re looking forward to upgrade your drum kit and making it even more special!
You have your very own Player Date set-up in mind? Then choose from the various size options by yourself and compile a mixed configuration at additional charge, no problem. Further more you can also enlarge this setup with extras at the same time, like a tom or cymbal mount, or garnish with additional wood hoops: your wishes are no limits set. We’re always looking forward to see multiple individual Gladstone kit configurations presented to the world on a nightly by all kinds of drummers.
